It is essential that there be MANDATORY labelling for genetically engineered foods, since it's clear manufacturing companies will not do so voluntarily. We, the consumers, have a right to know whether our food has been tampered with. We subscribe to the precautionary approach, and as yet there have been no long-term tests done on GE foods. Also, the margin of error in the labeling of GE free foods should be in the 2% range, as it is in other countries---not 0% which is impossible to attain because of drift and other factors. Do not cenure the ability of companies to label their food GE-free.
