Subject: downed animals

I am writing to urge the support of a petition to prohibit the slaughter of downed animals.  The docket number is 98P0151/CPI.  Due to the horrors of factory farming many animals become too injured to move or stand because of inhumane treatment.  These animals are then dragged, pulled or moved with a forklift so that a few more dollars are made off of their abused bodies.  Please support this petition prohibiting the sale of these animals which, due to their condition, may also pose a health risk to humans if they eventually become their dinner.
