Subject: Downed Animals

Hello,

I'm writing to support the petition to ban the slaughter of downed animals.  I'm a vegetarian so I don't eat animals anyhow, but feel the gross treatment of animals in factory farming is bad enough, and they should at least humanely deal with the animals they've raised who are so sick they can't even stand!  How sad all this is - treating other beings as if they suffer no pain, physical or emotional.  

I certainly question whether human beings are the smartest group on this poor earth
