(FDA Dockets 00N-1396 and 00D-1598) Dear Corporate and Government Leaders, Genetically engineered food ingredients or crops should not be allowed on the market until: 1) Independent safety testing demonstrates they have no harmful effects on human health or the environment, 2) They are labeled to ensure the consumer's right-to-know, and 3) The biotechnology corporations that manufacture them are held responsible for any harm. I would also like to add that I't is my belief that the ills of the nation and the reason that people are sick alot is directly related to the contamination of our food supply by hormones, herbicieds, pesticides, GE manipulation, biodiversity etc... I for one don't want to eat a radish with a tomato gene when I am deathly alergic to tomatos. I realy don't want to eat food soaked in pestisides that the label reads harmful if swallowed. These things are taken into the body in small amounts but they are stored in the body and over time they accumulate leading to all sorts of things going wrong. I am very concerned about the health of our nation. Thanks for listening. Marc Rinkenberger Organic Consumer Sincerely Marc Rinkenberger 1611 Bellevue Ave Norfolk, Virginia 23509
