(FDA Dockets 00N-1396 and 00D-1598) Dear Corporate and Government Leaders, Genetically engineered food ingredients or crops should not be allowed on the market until: 1) Independent safety testing demonstrates they have no harmful effects on human health or the environment, 2) They are labeled to ensure the consumer's right-to-know, and 3) The biotechnology corporations that manufacture them are held responsible for any harm. I strongly oppose the inclusion of unlabeled GE ingredients in our foods. I have taken the extra steps to learn which brands vow that they use no GE ingredients, and I try to buy those brands whenever possible. Unfortunately, the FDA's current policies have made my task more time consuming and difficult. Please require labelling of all foods with GE ingredients so that consumers can at least make an informed choice as to the foods they buy Sincerely Bonnie Wisthoff 148 Fifth St #1 Cambridge, Massachusetts 02141
