I am concerned that the new rules favor the biotech companies, and show no regard for the health of the consumer, nor for the consumer's right to know what he or she is eating. I am very disturbed by reports about drift of GE crop pollen, Monarch butterflies dying from GE crop pollen, increased use of pesticides on GE crops and many other things. The US needs to focus on organic food production, not genetically engineered crops. The proposed Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations fail to require labels or safety tests on genetically engineered (GE) food. The new rules continue to deny Americans the right to know what is in our food, while protecting the economic interests of biotech corporations. Many people have food allergies, and the GE foods that are not labelled may lead to a dramatic increase in serious food allergy reactions. Basically, we all have a right to know what is in our food, so I strongly urge you to support mandatory labelling and safety testing of all GE foods. Sincerely, Dana Davis 111 La Honda Rd. woodside, CA 94062 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
