From: Herongb@aol.com Sent: Saturday, March 03, 2001 10:26 AM To: fdadocket@oc.fda.gov Subject: fdadocket #99p-1340/cp1 I have Multiple chemical sensitivity-and am very much bothered by chemicals and perfumes. If I go into stores where the floors were just cleaned with strong chemicals, or the detergent aisle of the grocery store, or public bathrooms that have those strong deodorant-release containers, etc - I can get an extreme "attack" where I get a migraine like headache and then usually I vomit and finally pass out -- these "attacks" can last 6 or more hours. Also, if I am near someone with perfume on the same thing can happen and it's hard to breathe and I can get a coughing attack. I've had this for about 5 years now. Before I had this problem I NEVER believed it when I heard about someone with this - I would think that they had a mental illness or something. I can tell you now that it exists. I can't even open my window when my neighbor runs there dryer after using soap with fragrances. About 12 years ago I came down with Chronic fatigue syndrome and I don't know if they are related but there might be a connection. Please ban strong chemicals and fragrances. If it bothers us this way imagine what it can do to your children and the environment. Thank you, Debbie Munson.
