Subject: slaughter of downed animals

To Whom It May Concern:

A petition (Docket # 98P-0151/CP1) is currently before the Food and
Drug Administration to prohibit the slaughter of 'downed' animals. As a
consumer of animal meat products and an advocate in support of maintaining a
healthy food supply and the humane treatment of animals, I would like to
express my strong support of the prohibition of slaughter of downed animals.
