I am writing to support this measure, although I feel it is not 
nearly strong enough, because:
1.  Tortured and sick animals can never bring health to those who eat them.
2. Inhuman treatment treatment of animals degrades human society and 
sustains a violent world.
3. For those of us who don't live in arctic climates, meat is 
unnecessary for our survival, and therefore animal  torture with the 
pretext of  needing the animals for food, is even more inexcusable.
