There has been insufficient testing of GMO foods and what testing that has been performed (when it is performed by those not in the companies themselves) has shown it can cause deathly allergic reactions, it can kill other species (if it hurts other species, why couldn't it have adverse affects on humans?), it horribly depletes the soil as well as the insane issue concerning patenting of food and seeds (you know, the things we need to survive - allowing a company to own them!). And these are short term issues, who knows what it is doing to our environment since we are changing the development of species and evolution itself. You should be ashamed for not forcing (you are a government entity right? well, the people/government own the companies Charters - do not renew them if they will not label) the companies to shape up and put safety before profits. If you cannot do your job there is no need for your organization. If you do not plan on requiring labeling I'd like to hear a response explaining that decision since there is no reason not to, unless you are already bought and sold by the companies themselves, please prove me wrong and regain my confidence.
