(FDA Dockets 00N-1396 and 00D-1598) Dear Corporate and Government Leaders, Genetically engineered food ingredients or crops should not be allowed on the market until: 1) Independent safety testing demonstrates they have no harmful effects on human health or the environment, 2) They are labeled to ensure the consumer's right-to-know, and 3) The biotechnology corporations that manufacture them are held responsible for any harm. The simplest and most logical first step is to require labeling if a food contains any GMO ingredients. If these companies do not have anything to be ashamed of, this should not be a problem, and it permits the consumer to make an informed choice. The delicate nature of our world has already been altered by these GMOs. Allowing consumers to choose whether or not to buy into them should be our right. As things stand it seems you are trying to hide something by not labeling. Sincerely chailly clayton 617 delaney avenue suite one orlando, Florida 32801
