To Whom It May Concern:

The United States Department of Agriculture's recent announcement that it
will no longer accept ground beef or by-products from downed cattle is a big
step forward in ensuring that livestock are treated humanely.  It is my
understanding that you are currently reviewing a Farm Sanctuary petition
that urges you to prohibit the slaughter of non-ambulatory animals.  I am in
full support of the petition and hope you will do what it asks.
