To fail to do so would be, in my opinion, to show total disregard for the citizenry you are appointed to serve. If, as this administration says, it believes in the power of the marketplace, then citizens must have the facts to make an informed decision. If you fail to require labeling of genetically modified foods as is already the law in Europe, it will only reinforce the belief, held by many, that this administration exists only to serve the interests of their large corporate campaign contributors and not the citizens.
