Since nobody is in the position to tell the consequences on humans of eating genetically engineered foods, I think that everyone must have the freedom to decide for themselves whether or not they consider the risk worth taking. Here we are not talking about a small detail in the lawmaking of this country, but about a fundamental human freedom to choose what to eat. It will be regarded by future generations as a blatant concession made to the multibillion dollar food industry, at a potential risk seldom seen before in human history. Take your responsibility to protect the American people seriously, and consider other, more honest ways of making money than keeping the cozy relationship to the food and pharmacy industry. I will seriously consider emigrating to Europe if you fail in providing me a fair chance to know what I'm eating.
