It is critical that these foods undergo thorough pre-market long-term safety testing by a third-party scientific lab, not affiliated with a biotech company, before marketing. There are many safety issues about this technology that need to be thoroughly addressed by responsible scientists not associated with the industry. Secondly, the foods need to have a thorough environmental-impact review before they are allowed to be introduced into the ecosystem, since plants will continue to reproduce and cross-breed, spreading throughout the environment. They may be impossible to contain in the future, if some undesireable influence is discovered. And lastly, it is absolutely unconscionable that our Food and Drug Administration would even consider putting these foods on the market without labeling them so consumers can know what they are eating, and decide if they want to eat it. Why was food labeling ever introduced in the first place? Label these foods! __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get email at your own domain with Yahoo!
