I am not strictly opposed to engineered foods, but believe consumers have the right to know what they are eating. About ten years ago, I was poisoned by manufactured L-tryptophan in a food suppliment. Though this was an incident not involving genetically engineered molicules, I believe the same argument applys. If I had not been aware of the bad L-tryptophan through a consumer report, and not seen the labeling on the bottle of my product, I would have had no idea what was poisoning me. Though incidents like these are likely to be few, I still believe this and similar public awareness arguments dictate that labeling of genetically engineered foods is a right that we should have as consumers trusting that what we buy is safe, but having that information in such cases where it is not. sincerely, Baron Roller _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
