I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and have been on total disability for 11 years, I believe that for me and people who have compromised immune systems, the elderly, ill, children, etc. you can not predict how genetically engineered foods might effect us. Therefore at the very minimum all products containing genetically engineered foods should be labeled. Additionally for spiritual reasons I am a vegetarian, I choose not to eat foods that contain the genes from any "flesh" whether it be animal, fish, bird, etc. Finally, each person should have the right to choose whether or not they WANT to eat genetically engineered food. I do not believe there has been sufficient testing to determine if it truly is safe. Look at the situation in Great Britain and Europe. No matter how appalling it is to think of serious animals being fed animal parts the practice has continued until there was a major crises with many people losing their entire livelihood. I am sure there will be many lawsuits in the fallout of that situation. Just such a situation could occur with genetically engineered food. Unfortunately the genetically engineered food situation may leave restaurants suffering because people who are truly concerned about consuming them will hesitate to eat in restaurants. Thank you.
