It has come to our attention that the FDA is considering approving the current application by A/F Protein for
GE Salmon.  Our organization STRONGLY OBJECTS TO THE USE OF GE FISH because they pose an unnecessary and unacceptable risk to the 
marine environment and potentially to human health.

Our wild salmon are already seriously threatened.  This is a sceintific FACT, not the rantings of some "environmentalist wackos".  I strongly urge you not to succumb to the fortuitious machinations of the biotech companies.  There are other safe alternatives ("superfeed" fish food, for example), which allow fish to grow 3 to 4 times more rapidly than normal.  This is also a proven scientific fact, and this fish "superfood" is totally natural.  

We, the well-informed, balanced-thinking, rational members of the public, know that the real objective here is to restrict technology that cannot be monopolized or oligopolized.  GE fish can be controlled by a few, while natural fish superfood cannot.  But the preferable economic consequences lie with superfood.  First, you would have the same (or a lower) cost of production, the same rapid growth rate, and an all-natural end-product, which would be at least potentially more valuable than a GE product.  AND since the superfood supply would not be controlled by a priveleged few, you would have more equitable distribution of the economic benefit throughout all strata of the economy with NO THREAT TO WILD FISH STOCKS!!  Not to mention the immeasurably negative economic consequences that would result from further decimation of our natural fish stocks.

So PLEASE MAKE THE SENSIBLE CHOICE AND PRESERVE OUR OVERALL QUALITY OF LIFE, WHILE ACHIEVING THE SAME INCREASED EFFICIENCY IN FISH PRODUCTION.  OPEN UP ACCESS TO THE TECHNOLOGY THAT'S OUT THERE AND MANDATE THE USE OF SUPERFOOD INSTEAD OF GE FISH!
