Knowing whether or not we purchase and consume GE foods is very important to my family--we have a right to know information about what is offered for sale to us.  I believe it is my government's responsibility to provide for this right. 
At the least please require: 

1) Independent safety testing for human and animal health and for the environment (this must include LONG TERM testing); 

2) Clear and honest labeling; 

3) That the biotechnology industry is held completely responsible for the short and long term affects of their products. 

This is a new industry and the impacts of their products, both positive and negative, are largely unknown. 

Please keep public health and safety at the top of your agenda.
