It is dangerously irresponsible and short sighted not to test for potentially catastrophic long term ecological effects of GE products, before they are released into the environment. As with any drug or new unknown compound, the potential long term human health effects of GE products must also be extensively tested, before they are released into the food supply, making us all unwilling guinea pigs. At the very least I demand that all food containing any GE products be labeled. I would view any attempt to restrict the right of those producers who do choose to accurately label their food products as GE free, as a direct attack on my health and well being. I am outraged by the blatant conflict of interest between the biotech industry and alleged federal regulators, wherein the same individuals move back and forth between industry and government.
