FDA Commissioner Dockets Management Branch (HFA 305) Food and Drug Administration 5630 Fisher's Lane, rm. 1061 Rockville, MD 20852 RE: Docket No. 00N-1396, and 00D-1598 Dear FDA, I have a granddaughter who is allergic to peanuts. This is no laughing matter. Should the harmful parts of peanuts be genetically engineered into other foods which she might unknowingly consume,--well......what then? Her name is Holly. Hopefully, Holly will grow up and have children. They may also have this allergy. What for them...... Once you turn this possiblity loose into our food supply, how can you retrieve it? How do you know what the far reaching consequencies are for humans? I am not comfortable with that possiblilty of letting GE fly. As a consumer, I am asking you to stop this GE business until we and you truly know what this dangerous unleashing will be!
