presently there are approximately 1.8 million americans with celiac disease or a sensitivity to gluten (wheat, rye or barley). many of our perscription and non perscription drugs use gluten/gliadin in colorings or as fillers. also, these additives are not clearly labeled!!!! so many times we physicians are prescribing medicines for our patients and can not understand why patients get worse! they are having reactions to the meds, and we are the cause! lets start labeling all products that are gluten free -g.f.. . if gluten is present lets warn the doctor and patient and state that this product contains gluten.
thank you
