Please do not fall for it. Radiation or irradiation of any kind is a dangerous contaminant. It will lead to quicker decay of the food item and therefore stronger bacterial infection of the food item as well leading to short-term illnesses and long-term nutritional problems (possibly death) in those who eat it.
