I am asking you to grant petition 98P-0151/CP1 that prohibits the slaughter
of downed animals.

Animals who are sick or injured are not healthy enough to enter the human
food supply and could cause illness in consumers. Also it is inhumane and
cruel to drag with chains downed animals to slaughter. I for one am
disgusted at the thought of eating an animal that was ill and in pain and
dragged to its death.
