It seems absolutely unbelievable to me that your administration would allow animals who are sick or injured to even enter the human food chain in such an inhumane manner. Whether you are a vegetarian OR NOT, this kind of treatment of livestock should be completely unaccceptable. Eliminating the market for downed animals is the only way, in our society, to provide incentive for the steps toward prevention of downed animals. These animals comprise such a small percentage of animals slaughtered that prohibiting their marketing won't even cause economic hardship! Please grant the petition to prohibit the slaughter of downed animals even as a small step toward eliminating violence in our society all together. Thank you for you consideration.
