Dear Commissioner:

As a consumer, I want to decide for myself whether or not to eat genetically engineered foods. But I don't have that choice, because your agency does not require labeling.

I understand that FDA is planning to announce guidelines for voluntary labeling, but this is not the answer. I will still be in the dark because I will still not know whether unlabeled food has been engineered or not.

I urge you to require labeling of all genetically engineered foods, including the source of foreign genes.
