The book explores the discovery of prions, their transmission and related disease development. Tonight I became aware that imported milk protein concentrate is found in processed foods in the US. In light of the growing European problems with bovine spongeform encephalopathy, measures must be promptly taken to protect the plant/animal/human food chain. Imported milk protein concentrate must be stopped and existing products that contain imported milk protein concentrate must be kept from human, plant and animal consumption . I am from Wisconsin, but not a dairy farmer. My closest tie with the dairy industry is an intense love of ice cream. I do not usually do this sort of thing, but I am a concerned health professional that prays you will evaluate this situation immediately. Prion transmitted diseases poise a true threat to humanity. If you choose to ignore this email, PLEASE at least read the referenced book. It is a quick read. Measures need to be taken sooner, rather than later. Thank you for any attention you give this matter. Sincerely Peggy P. Hays, PA-C W4727 County Road IW Waldo, WI 53093 (920)528-8698
