As a medical professional (I am a physician assistant in an emergency department), I see some of the problems created by the overuse of antibiotics in our country. Although they were one of the greatest discoveries in medicine, we are now seeing increasing problems with resistance, sometimes with devastating consequences. For my part, I work hard to educate my patients about the appropriate and inappropriate uses of these medicines, and to use them prudently. I request that you help this cause by promoting studies that look at antibiotic use in agriculture, so that we may all begin to look at ways to reduce needless exposure. Thank you for your time and efforts, in advance. I look forward to hearing what you intend to do about this issue. Sincerely, Sandra J.
