Dear Jane,
    My name is Ramie Streng and I live with my husband and family in Ashland, Oregon. My address so you know I am a "real" person is 1255 Munson Dr. Ashland, Oregon 97520. I have to take antibiotics for my heart murmur .Whether or not it is safe to have patients take  antiobiotics on a regular basis for cleaning etc has been a great concern among many dentists. I know my dentist is concerned, as was my last dentist in CA.  If dentists are concerned for taking antibiotics at crucial times for dental work than I can imagine with the daily exposure some of us get to antibiotics in our diet, it makes sense to study the issue more thoroughly.   I think it would be very prudent to have a national system for data collected on antibiotic use in Agriculture. Please excuse me for not sending a handwritten note, but my sentiments are exactly the same via e-mail. Listen to the voice of reason with the Union of Concerned Scientists.
