Dear Dr. Henney,  

I recently read a report by the Union of Concerned Scientists that they estimate that US agriculture uses more than 24 million tons of antibiotics in animal feed on a yearly basis.  Given the problems associated with the overuse of antibiotics in general, they argue that their estimate needs to be validated by better data collection.  Thus, I am writing to you to request that you establish a reporting system to determine the quantity of antibiotics used in U.S. agriculture.  I would very much like to hear from you concerning when and if (and if not, why not) you plan to insitute such a system.
