Dear Doctor Henney:

Creating a federal antibiotic reporting system should be a top priority
for this and
the incoming FDA administration, since the rise in antibiotic resistance
is eliminat-
ing the effectiveness of these drugs for treating infectious diseases in
people, ac-
cording to the Union of Concerned Scientists and others.

Please let me know what the FDA intends to do about this troublesome and
in-
creasingly urgent matter.
