Hi, my name is Jenny Braun.  I live on my family farm
in Minnesota.  I'm writing you today to encourage you
to grant the petition to prohibit the slaughter of
downed animals.  I have seen the way downers are
handled at the stockyards where we sell our cattle. 
It is not pretty.  Stopping the sale of downers will
stop the inhumane treatment.  It is also not healthy
for consumers to eat downers.  Stopping the sale of
downers would not cause any hardship to farmers - I
should know since we raise cattle!  I also think that
with better treatment, most downers can be prevented. 
Please support 98P-0151/CP1.
