Dear Commissioner Henney,
 
I understand the proposed FDA regulations fail to require labels or safety tests on genetically engineered food.  Why?  How can this be justified?  Consumers have a right to know and yes, we are capable of understanding the labeling which appears on food.  Why is the FDA ignoring the recommendations of the Biotechnology Consultative Forum who in December urged the U.S. to require mandatory labeling of GE foods?
    Please reconsider this proposal.  We have every right to know how our foods are grown & manipulated so that we can spend our dollars and feed our families as we see fit.
