I am contacting you with the request that the FDA
create and enforce laws to prohibit the sale of ill,
diseased and downed animals and follow through with
their prompt and humane euthanization by a licensed
DMV because:
>
1: No Animal that is too sick or injured even to stand
should ever be allowed to enter the human food chain.
>
2: These animals obviously carry bacterial
contamination, and as is now common knowlwdge, many
downed animals have recently been infected with a form
of BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy or"Mad Cow
Disease") 
 
3: The unbelievably inhumane processes that are being
used to move these creatures break their legs and
other body parts while they are still alive and
suffering in agony.  Many downed animal incidents can
be prevented with more humane care and treatment.

4: The market economy will not be affected as a very
small percentage of downed animals are actually
slaughtered and utilized.
>
Please consider these reasons to treat downed animals
more humanely as well as protecting the food supply
which humans use these creatures for.
