My dog has been using a form of PPA for 18 months with seemingly no adverse affects. She was prescribed it after doctors tried to fix her bladder sphincter which does not close tightly. They tried to surgically fix it when she was spayed but were unable to. Recently she was switched from one PPA drug to another called Proin, manufactured by PRN Pharmacal, exclusively for veterinary use. Our vet told us that PRN said the FDA forced them to stop making/selling Proin because PPA causes strokes in young women. Please explain to me why the FDA is doing this. I do not understand why my dog has to stop taking a drug that may cause strokes in young human women. Can't we give it to her knowing this risk? Lastly, legally speaking, is it against the law for me to purchase this drug in another country (like Canada) and bring it back into this country? -Ron Frank -- -- Ron Frank, Riddler Aquent, world's largest talent agency for creative, web and tech.
