Dear Ms. Henney,
 
Your agency's proposal for "voluntary" genetic labelling is a total, 
 complete sham.  You know full well that you are serving industry to the 
detriment of consumers, who have a fundamental right to know and make 
decisions for themselves. There is absolutely no good reason to not 
require labelling of products containing genetically modified organisms.

Furthermore, there is ample reason to require far more extensive testing 
for potential effects on human health, and equally as important, for 
ecological consequences before taking genetically modified life forms from 
lab into application where potentially catastrophic environmental 
feedbacks will be set in motion.

Your proposed rules ignore serious concerns, and appear to be a decision 
made to convenience industry at the expense of public health and the 
environment. I will not accept your attempt to make me and the entire 
world a guinea pig of these untested foods, just for the convenience of 
industry marketing folks.  

ALL genetically modified organisms must be thoroughly and exhaustively 
tested under laboratory conditions for potential adverse impacts on humans 
and ecosystems on which all future humanity ultimately depends.  Only 
after such testing should such as organism be allowed to escape into the 
natural environment, and all foods containing genetically modified 
organisms should be CLEARLY LABELLED.
