Questions
1. General Comments Labeling of Bioengineered foods should NOT be voluntary, it should be mandatory. These foods have not been tested for long term effects to health or the environment. The public has little knowledge of this because these foods have been slipped into the food supply without much notice. The FDA is supposed to hold public benefit above all other ideals and should be insisting that foods created outside the natural order (i.e. bioengineered foods) be labeled. Don't make the farmers who grow ordinary, natural foods to take on the expense of proving their foods are not bioengineered. This is just totally backward logic. Labeling for bioengineered foods should be a no-brainer.
