Our food supply is the stuff of life, and yet you are permitting chemical companies to unleash untested newly created "foods" on us without adequate safety testing and studies for long-term effects on human beings and other species and forms of life. Nobody knows what possible changes in the human and animal organism can result from ingesting genetically altered crops over long periods of time. This is what I expect of the FDA: 1. I want to be protected from these "foods" by their bearing an easily recognized symbol or statement that informs the consumer that they are "GMOs". 2. I want there to be adequate testing of GMOs under scrupulous testing conditions and for a sufficient period of time that allows observation of their effects on human, animal and insect organisms as well as the possible contamination of non-GMO crops. 3. I want your allegiance to be to the consumer, not to the corporate interests. Don't be held hostage to their avarice. Remember that your own health and that of generations of your descendants may be in jeopardy. We all have a stake in the safety of our food supply. 4. Protect us and our children from being used as the test population for these newly created "foods." Caryle Katz 3400 Woodward Street Oceanside, NY 11572
