Subject: Concern of overuse of antibiotics

Commissioner Jan E. Henney: My family and I are quite concerned about
the overuse of antibiotics given to cows, pigs and chickens. This
overuse in agriculture is contributing to the emergence of untreatable
diseases in people. Reliable data on antibiotic use in agriculture is
needed for an effective strategy to reduce antibiotic use are
