It concerns authorizing a a system for collectingbasic data on agricultural antibiotic use in the United States. The information should be collected for both human and agricultural use and should include the class, indication, dosage, and treatment period. According ot the Union of Concerned Scientists, the amount of antibiotics used to enhance growth and prevent infection in dairy cows is reaching about 24.6 million pounds -or roughly 70 percent of all antibiotic drugs in the US. The danger obviously is that we will build up resistance by ingessting the meata or milk that contains these antibiotics. Please act on this before you leave office. Thank you. Hanno Kirk PhD
