Henney, MD Commissioner U.S. Food and Drug Administration 5600 Fishers Lane Rockville, MD 20857-0001 Dear Commissioner: This is a short message but a very important one and your consideration given to this plea would be fully appreciated. Government guaranteed information on U.S. antibiotic use is necessary for creating effective solutions for reducing antibiotic use in livestock. The reported unnecessary dosages for purposes other than diseases has serious consequences for human health. Your administration has already recognized the need for collecting such data and we urge you to establish a government system to gather and distribute this information. Your careful consideration and reply to this letter would be appreciated. We also trust this important work will be brought to the attention of those concerned in the upcoming Bush Administration. Thank you. Kenneth A. Grover 653 Maranville Road East Wallingford, Vermont kgrov@aol.com
