Dear Dr. Henney,
     I am deeply concerned about the overuse of antibiotic drugs in agriculture which is contributing to the rise in antibiotic resistance and in eliminating the effectiveness of these drugs for treating infectious diseases in people.  Government-guaranteed information on U.S. antibiotic use is necessary for creating effective solutions for reducing this overuse.  I recomend that the Food and Drug Administration move now to establish a system for collecting basic data on agricultural use in the United States.  The data should cover both human and agricultural use and should include the class, indication, dosage, and treatment period.
