To whom it may concern:

I am writing to ask that Petition 98P-0151/CP1 be accepted to prohibit the 
slaughter of downed animals (farm animals that are too sick or injured to 
stand).  These animals (often cattle) cannot be transported humanely; they 
are pushed with bulldozers, pulled with chains attached to tractors, etc.  
They may also contain diseases such as mad cow which can affect the people 
who ultimately eat them.
