Voluntary labeling is no different than what already exists and food companies are not labeling products unless there is no bioengineering. People, myself included, want to know what they are consuming. Mandatory labeling will allow people to make real choices about exactly what they are purchasing and consuming. I am having a hard time understanding why requiring labeling of bioengineered foods is so difficult. The ingredients are already required to be listed. I am requesting that the type of ingredients be specifically mentioned as well.
