Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments I am glad to see that the public is finally invited to share their comments concerning the changing of certain drugs for over the counter use, that being Claritin in particular. Both my son and I are users of Claritin and I have always felt that it is definately overpriced and that the drug company is only interested in profits. I am fortunate enough to have insurance coverage which gives me some reinbursement, but what about those individuals who are less fortunate. I am sure that if it can be sold in Canada over the counter,it has been researched enough to know that it is not dangerous to the public health and safety. My question has always been why is it that other parts of the world can sale certain drugs over the counter and the USA cannot. Perhaps it is because the shareholders of the drug companies would be losing big profits on moneymakers such as Claritin. I think everyone in the country is entitled to the most affordable health care. Perhaps if we made health care affordable and preventative to everyone, then the insurance companies wouldn't have to pay out the bigs bucks in the end.
