1. General Comments I agree that the public wants to be able to look after their health themselves. Claritin should definately be available otc. The manufactors in this case are merely trying to protect their profits. In the case of the stanins, most people that become aware that they have high cholestrol, do so through a medical exam anyway. At this point the physican could recommend the otc and arrange the appointments to check the liver and progress of the cholestrol levels. When the processes necessary to our well-being are explained to us, we are pretty good at following directions. This would also make these helpful drugs available at a more reasonable cost to those many people who either don't have prescription coverage, or have a pitiful excuse for one as is offered so commonly now days.
