Comments for FDA General
Questions
1. General Comments I do think some prescription drugs should be OTC,especially those which are so frequently prescribed. Doctors turn a deaf ear when you tell them you cannot afford certain medications because of their cost. I don't think many of them even KNOW the cost of what they are prescribing! In the case of the alternative medicine sold OTC for cholesterol lowering, why can't doctors be told they must order blood tests for those who choose this less expensive medication over obscene prices charged by drug companies. For myself, and I am sure there are many more of us out here, we want to be in control of what we take in our bodies. I no longer trust doctors, drug companies, or gov't to tell me what is best for me. When senior citizens must spend a large percentage of their social security on doctors and medicine they MUST take charge. Thank you for this opportunity to express what I am sure many of us feel about prescription drug prices and their makers.
