Taking Lotronex beginning last July changed my life, similar to the theme in "Awakenings." Last week, when I heard of the recall, I found myself in the same boat as those poor patients for whom the medicine stopped working, lapsing back into the gray, dismal existence, thoses brief moments of "life" seeming only a dream. I wonder if those who lobbied for its removal, or those who supported its recall, have any idea what life is like for those who suffer from IBS, who have suffered with inadequate treatments, and after less than a year of trial, are now being deprived of the first hope for relief they have ever had. People with whom I have spoken are prepared to do whatever is necessary to be monitored by a physician or undergo examinations to make sure they are using the medication properly and responding well to the treatment. Why can you not listen to the patients? Sincerely,
