Subject: REGULATION OF ANTIHISTIMINES
Today I received a letter from my insurance carrier stating that the "FDA is now regulating dosage administration" of Allegra, Claritin, and Zyrtec.

I am currently on one Claritin pill in the a.m. and one Zyrtec in the p.m.  The reason being is that I have chronic hives due to food additives.  My hives are so bad at times, these two pills alone are not enough!  I have had to supplement using Benedryl.  My hives can be a MAJOR source of distraction.  I have changed my diet radically, but there are additives in almost every food product you eat.

Please explain to me why you are regulating the dosage level of these perscriptions?  I fear for my sanity if I have a major uncontrollable outbreak of hives and am unable to take the medication that I currently take.

Sincerely,
Julie Mitchell
