CONSENT

• Consent for a minor (age defined by local law) to participate in a study is typically obtained from the minor’s parent or legal guardian

  • informed written consent
  • “permission” for the minor to participate in the study from the parent/guardian is typically obtained prior to discussing the study with the minor

• “Emancipated minors” (defined by local law) may sign their own consent form
